Not Guilty

modern christian women of color blogger

“Jesus raised up again and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one judged you guilty?” Then Jesus said, “I also don’t judge you guilty. You may go now, but don’t sin anymore.” — John 8:10-11 (NCV)

Guilt and condemnation keep us stuck in the memories of our past wrongs. These emotions distance us from God, and separate us from true freedom and abundance in Christ. In order to be of good service to God, we must rebuke and overcome feelings of unworthiness.

As modern Christian women, we can learn a lot from the compassion Jesus showed toward the woman caught in adultery found in John 8:1-11. Even in our darkest moments, Jesus loves us enough to protect and save us from compromising situations.
