Unfortunately, we often feel stuck in our Christian growth due to feelings of guilt and condemnation. We often distance ourselves from God when we feel wrong or ashamed for something we have done. We also feel unworthy when we feel we have failed God by being disobedient. Get over those feelings! The good news is that Jesus came to free us from our sin and guilt! When religious laws failed to bring us into relationship with God, the love of Christ saved us, and made us right with God. Reading these scriptures aloud will remind you of the newness of life you have with the Father through faith and belief in our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
FREEDOM FROM GUILT & SIN SCRIPTURES
1. Micah 7:19 (NLT): “Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!”
2. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
3. Isaiah 43:25 (NCV): “I, I am the One who erases all your sins, for my sake; I will not remember your sins.”
4. Galatians 5:13-14 (MSG): “It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom.”
5. Psalms 103:12 (NCV): “He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from the west.”
6. Philippians 3:13 (NLT): “…I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”
7. Hebrews 8:12 (KJV): “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
