Relationship Not Religion

christian women of color podcast posted on christian women of color blog

“Jesus said to the woman, “Because you believed, you are saved from your sins. Go in peace.” — Luke 7:50, (NCV)

Religion is very often cultural, not spiritual. It includes a lot of man-made traditions and ideologies. Religion often hurts people, ostracizes people, and confuses people. So we do not promote religion, but we do promote relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and the spiritual development that moves you to be kind to people, to not judge people and to treat people with respect.

What you will hear in this message:

  • The distinction between relationship and religion with two Biblical examples

  • Embracing the spirituality of religion, but not its politics

  • The true purpose of church and bible-based resources

  • Practical ways to develop a relationship with God
