Step 4: Prayer of Salvation

“Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”

— John 14:6, NCV

BEFORE YOU READ THIS PRAYER, listen to the audio that outlines the steps to salvation. You also want to listen to the previous messages on accepting Christ, and the plan of salvation. Congratulations and blessings to you on your new life in Christ Jesus!

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Dear God,

I know that I am a sinner, and I ask you to forgive me. Have mercy on me. Take away my guilt and shame. Deliver me from every wrong desire, bad habit and wrong thought that has caused trouble in my life. I believe that Jesus Christ died for me, and I want to turn from my sins. Jesus, come into my heart and be my personal Lord and Savior right now. I promise to obey you. Help me to follow you all the days of my life. I want to be a child of God.

Thank you Jesus for dying for my sins and making me right with God. I put my life in your hands. May God’s will and good plans be done in my life. From this day forward, I serve Jehovah, the one true God, all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus, I declare that I am no longer a sinner! I am a beloved child of God! I am saved!

In the mighty name of Jesus, I thank you that it is so.

Amen.

>>WHAT DO YOU DO NOW?

  1. Baptism— Go get baptized! Go to a church that suits you, and get baptized—submerged in a pool of water by a pastor or church leader. This represents the death, burial and resurrection of your old self, and the new birth of your saved self as a believer in Christ Jesus.

  • 1 Peter 3:21 (NLT): “And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

  • Ephesians 4:4 (NLT): “For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.”

2. Read your bible daily.

3. Pray daily. Get our books, “Prayers and Confessions for Everyday Victory” and “Prayers and Confessions for Teens & Young Adults.”

4. Go to church! Join a fellowship of right-minded Christians who support you in building your faith. You might need to attend more than one church to find the one that suits you, but connect in person with other Christians.
